As more manufacturers gain experience with direct inspections, the conduct of inspections and the responses of manufacturers are improving. Market-specific cases and characteristics are also somewhat understood. It leads to a decrease in inquiries regarding code interpretation and application, while the number of inspection requests has significantly increased compared to 2023.
The state of global collaboration projects, which was relatively calm, is on the rise, and equipment investments continue steadily, separate from consumption slowdowns. Projects aimed at installing equipment in 2025 are progressing, with a focus on inspections in the pharmaceutical, food, secondary battery, and utility equipment sectors.
(KEA (Korea Energy Agency) inspection in Finland)
The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) is responding flexibly to the increasing demand for inspections. However, delays are expected in the second half of the year (July to September) due to rising domestic inspection requirements. Therefore, we recommend a minimum lead time of 150 days for inspections of imported pressure vessels. Occasionally, requests for inspection completion within 30 or 45 days occur, but such timelines are not feasible given the step-by-step application process.
SSEN discusses inspection schedules with KEA on a monthly basis and has been completing drawing inspections within 30 to 40 days. Please note that overseas inspections without prior scheduling may face difficulties in assigning inspectors.
To prevent schedule disruptions, we recommend preparing drawing inspections in advance.
We appreciate your cooperation.
